Cadini of Misurina group
The route winds through the heart of the Cadini massif, upping and downing through the peaks, spires and pinnacles of the thousand spires of Misurina. The route climbs and descends from four passes in rapid sequence (Forcella della Torre 2400 m, Sabbiosa 2440 m, Ciadìn Deserto 2400 m, Cristina 2370 m) in the middle of the route. From the Misurina starting point the path climbs along the left hand side of the Col de Varda slope to the junction with the almost totally flat footpath to Pian degli Spiriti, a clearing which is the starting point of our climb to Rifugio Fonda Savio (2367 m). After a rocky descent in the upper Campedele valley (to the south west of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo) facilitated by metal cables, the path traverses the valley to the right (metal plate Sentiero Durissini). After climbing the passes to an amazing view which resembles a rock cathedral the route descends along the southern face of the Cadini group across Ciadin de le Pere to Forcella Maraia and the open pastures at Rifugio Città di Carpi (2110 m) before descending to Misurina.
